■Effect of air conditioning without wind on brain waves
By research conducted by Associate Professor Tsuyoshi Okamoto of Kyushu University's Graduate School of Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences, we measured and analyzed how brain waves, psychological time, skin temperature, etc. differed when switching between cooling and heating methods (general air conditioning with wind and radiant air conditioning with no wind). Experiments were conducted in a summer cooling environment and a winter heating environment, respectively. The results showed that the amplitude of gamma and beta waves were lower and the passage of time was perceived more quickly when there was no wind, regardless of whether the environment was air-conditioned or heated. Since high gamma waves have been reported to reflect a strong state of anxiety, these results suggest that people can be more at peace without wind under air-conditioning and heating.

■Exploit latent needs through attempts to capitalize on the unique characteristics of urban hotels
The spread of infectious diseases has made it difficult for people to travel far away and refresh themselves.
Nevertheless, society continues to turn, and the amount of information flooding the digital world is only increasing.
Micro-tourism promoted by the government has given people who were feeling tired an opportunity to refresh themselves. The urban refreshment hotel proposed by Hotel Great Morning is a new style of lodging that creates opportunities to experience nature and face oneself while staying in the city, even if it is not a resort hotel adjacent to nature such as the ocean or mountains, by focusing on "being natural" in the interior, furniture, and even the atmosphere. This is a new style of lodging that creates an opportunity to be in touch with nature and to spend time with oneself even in the city.
